Chicago Bulls Trade: Suns' Gerald Green for Mohammed, Snell & Bairstow Possible? [Rumors]

In an attempt to improve Chicago Bulls' roster, great offensive and defensive players will be needed; and as trading season nears its deadline, trade rumors are beginning to heat up and different teams are being tossed into the mix, including the Bulls.

According to the Bleacher Report, Gerald Green from the Phoenix Suns would be a valuable addition to the Bulls, especially for its not-so impressive small forward position.

"With Jimmy Butler god-ing at the 2 spot, the Bulls could really use an upgrade over Mike Dunleavy at the 3. Doug McDermott isn't equipped to defend small forwards, and Tony Snell still looks lost," noted the Bleacher Report.

The site added that given Chicago's weakening performance on three-point shooting, the team could "use another catch-and-shoot weapon capable of playing defense without sending Thibodeau into fits of facial rage that were once reserved for Nate Robinson."

Green plays the position of small forward and shooting guard. The 28-year-old Texan native stands 6'8 and has a 37.3 shooting percentage from deep overall, with a 38.2 percent on spot-up opportunities.

"With so much already invested in perimeter firepower-and Goran Dragic approaching free agency-the Phoenix Suns might be inclined to move him rather than pay him," according to Pippen Ain't Easy.

Prior to joining the Phoenix Suns, Green has already been in the D-League. And despite not being considered a go-to guy during this stint, Kpopstarz said that he "thrived under the system of coach Jeff Hornacek."

Green will be a free agent by July, and despite scoring a couple of 3-point shots for the Suns, Grantland predicts that Green's future does not lie with the PHX.

"Trading [Green] would be a gamble, since the Suns don't have a traditional shooting guard with Green's range. P.J. Tucker is a defense-first small forward, Marcus Morris is a tweener forward, and it's unclear if Zoran Dragic and Archie Goodwin are ready to contribute," according to Grantland.

In order to trade in Green, the Epoch Times reported that the Bulls would have to send players, including Nazr Mohammed, Cameron Bairstow and Tony Snell, along with Sacramento's top-10-protected first-round draft pick in 2015 that the Bulls acquired from the Kings, to Phoenix Suns.

At present, the trades are still only rumors as there is still no sign that the deal is actually in the works.

Trades will be vetted by ESPN Trade Machine whenever possible. Note that players signed over the off-season cannot be officially dealt until Dec. 15.
