Actress Kate Hudson and musician Matt Bellamy have called off their engagement.
"Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," said the rep of Bellamy, 36, to E! News. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."
Us Weekly wrote that while the gorgeous blonde is mending a broken heart, she may have found comfort in the arms of a certain "Dancing With The Stars" dancer.
According to the website, Kate and Derek Hough have been spotted dining together in Los Angeles where they "ate dinner, drank, and stayed past closing."
Recalling an earlier article by TMZ, Hudson has admitted to taking private dance lessons from Derek and spending time with the pro dancer in 2013.
"My heart is really in contemporary jazz, but lately I've been ballroom dancing with Derek Hough," said the actress to Shape Magazine, via Hollywood Life. "It's been a real blast."
The "How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days" star reportedly split with the Muse lead singer due to changes in her thoughts on marriage, notes Radar Online. The site reports that the 35-year-old actress said during an interview with Kelly Ripa earlier this year that she was no longer keep on the idea of marriage,
"My parents aren't married," said the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn while on "Live! With Kelly and Michael". "And [planning a wedding is] a lot. ... So no. Not [getting married] anytime soon, no."
Additionally in July, the site quoted the actress insisting: "We've got kids and a family and we've got to find our time together alone. We are in it. I think if we do get married it will be for the kids, really. For us, we're just happy."
Sources of X17 have also shared that while Kate is in love with Bellamy, she isn't convinced marriage is the right thing for them.
"Kate doesn't ever want to get divorced again, and she wasn't sure marriage with Matt was the right choice," said the insider. "There is still a lot of love there, and they plan to amicably co-parent their son. Who knows what the future holds for them, but right now it's not a wedding," the added.
The co-parents were last spotted in public together nearly a month ago during a charity event for Hawn in L.A. last Nov. 21.
The pair began dating in 2010 and share a son together, Bingham Bellamy (now aged 3), who was born July of 2011. Hudson and Bellamy welcomed their baby boy three months after getting engaged. Hudson has an older son, Ryder, aged 10 whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Robinson.
