According to a recent survey by Curbed, Seattle Seahawks' running back Marshawn Lynch is the NFL player who owns the most over-the-top mansion. The NFL star bought the 7,000-square-foot waterfront home back in 2012 for $3.6 million after signing a $31 million deal with the team.
The home located in Richmond California sits on 134 feet of bayfront property, and it also features a 58-foot long boat dock. The residence has a total of five bedrooms and five bathrooms and also has other luxury features like a home theater, wine cellar and elevator. This seems to be the perfect home to retire to after speculations that the athlete is now planning to take a break from football.
According to the Daily Progress, the running back posted a tweet with an emoji showing a peace sign along with a pair of cleats hanging from a power line. Many fans and even his teammates took the message as a sign of goodbye. Some of his teammates like Russell Wilson, Doug Baldwin, Bruce Irvin, Paul Richardson and Richard Sherman even paid tribute to him on their social media accounts. Even Lynch's mother posted a message on Twitter saying, "When one door closes God opens another one even better thank you Jesus!!!!!"
Last month, Seattle's general manager John Schneider said in several radio interviews that Lynch was actually thinking of retiring after an injury-filled 2015 season.
Lynch first played for the Buffalo Bills when he was drafted in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft, and in 2012 he signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He was nicknamed "Beast Mode" because of his aggressive running style and consistent ability to run over the defenders.
