Apple's iOS 8.2 is still in its beta stages but interested users and Apple enthusiasts are already raring to find out what Apple's upcoming update has to offer and when they can get their hands on it, Gotta Be Mobile reported.
The original iOS 8 was unveiled to the public with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus back in September, an improvement from the iOS 7 that offers better features, fixes, and enhancements. However, the iOS 8 ended up experiencing numerous problems that prompted Apple into releasing continuous updates up to last month's release of the iOS 8.1.1.
Now, Apple is already planning ahead and has released the iOS 8.2 Beta, the first version in the iOS 8.2 Beta 1. The tech giant is keeping mum on a possible release date as well as key features of the iOS update, but as the company is known to announce their iOS alongside launch events, it will most likely be announced alongside the release of the Apple Watch.
When the iOS 8.2 Beta 1 was released, Apple also allowed developers the chance to test their apps for the upcoming Apple Watch and its two optional interfaces, according to 9 to 5 Mac.
The developers' statement said that the iOS 8.2 is compatible with the Apple Watch's primary interface, the Watch app, and the two interfaces, the Glance and the custom notification. The Watch app allows users to access the data they want without the need to grab their iPhones and access the iOS app.
The Glance displays information without the need for interaction.
"As its name implies, a Glance displays information that users can absorb instantly, without interaction; in fact, tapping a Glance on Apple Watch launches your Watch app," 9 to 5 Mac noted.
The custom notification, on the other hand, shows users the information and notifications they received from their iOS app straight to the watch. It also allow users to put in action buttons of their choice.
With the partnership between the iOS 8.2 and the Apple Watch, it is not unlikely that the iOS 8.2 will be officially announced come spring 2015 when the Apple Watch is released, according to Gotta Be Mobile.
For now, with the iOS 8.2 Beta 1 still being tinkered with by Apple and their developing partners, users will have to wait patiently until further news is announced.
However, some parties are reportedly keeping busy as well. Air Herald reveals that a Jailbreak for the iOS 8.2 Beta already exists but remains unreleased.
The iOS 8.2 Beta Jailbreak was created by popular iOS Jailbreak group TaiG, who was said to be connected to a Chinese pirated app store. The rumors led to users avoiding their Jailbreak works, such as their recently released iOS 8.1.1 Jailbreak, but the group has since verified their version to be safe for users and are also finishing up their latest iOS 8.2 Beta Jailbreak.
The iOS 8.2 Beta Jailbreak isn't available yet as they are waiting for the original iOS 8.2 version to be made available before enabling it, but once the official version comes out, TaiG is planning to release it to all phones and Jailbreak users.
