Some homes are fortunate enough to have a sunroom installed, as it is one of the best spots at home. The room can without a doubt give you a relaxing environment wherein you'd still get to receive adequate sunlight, and a view of the luscious garden that can soothe your mind on a busy day.
Sun rooms aren't always prioritized, but to those homes that have it, it is usually the homeowners place for comfort. It does not come in cheap as you would have to shell out a few extra cash to have it done, but end results are always worth it.
Listed below are a few design tips on how to create a beautiful sunroom:
Color
Color is one of the most influential factors that can either make or break the design. For the sunroom's color palette, it is good to stick with minimal subtle hues and neutral earth colors.
Abbe Fenimore, the owner of Studio Ten 25, told the Fresh Home website that, "Making a sunroom an extension of your home is an important piece of selecting color for the room, try adding pillows and accessories that tie in with the colors you already have in your home."
She then added, "Gray and navy are a great place to start; you can layer with beautiful, bold colors in the spring and summer, and warmer tones for the fall and winter."
Ideal Temperature
As per Home Design Software, it is important to make the sunroom's design as flexible as possible, most especially during the summer. Though the room is ideally intended for spring and cool moths, make sure that it won't be too hot during the winter.
Furniture Choices
For the furniture choices, Fenimore stated that most designers would usually opt for future accessories, but she would usually advice clients to opt with wicker and woven crafts for the outdoor spaces.
As per Fenimore, "Sunrooms are great places to have comfortable seating upholstered in fabrics including outdoor velvets, chenilles and leathers."
