Apartments for Rent: Affordable Housing Units at 250 Ashland Place Starts at $801 Per Month

More affordable housing is now available after the 52-story building at 250 Ashland Place opened 282 units for low-income individuals. According New York Curbed, the place opened half of the 586 total apartments in the building to the public.

The building is located in the center of Fort Greene's cultural district and is only a few blocks away from Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Barclays Center and the Atlantic Terminal transit hub.

DNA Info reports that these apartments start at $801 per month and there will be 56 studios, 113 one bedroom, 85 two-bedrooms and 28 three-bedroom apartments people can choose from. These places can be rented out between $28,835 and $200,400 a year.

The studios and the one-bedroom apartments go between $801 and $2,632 per month and are for one- or two-person households with an annual income of $28,835 to $138,200. On the other hand, the other units are for big families who have an annual income of $172,600.

The two- and three-bedroom units will feature central AC, plank wood floors and granite countertops. Some of the amenities in the building include a 24-hour lobby, fitness center, resident lounge, concierge and a playroom. The building also includes 12,000 square feet of ground floor retail which is along Fulton Street and also 8,000 square feet of office space on the second floor, which is also open for local arts organization.

It was said that all of the building's affordable units will be rent stabilized and also include gas. The other 304 apartments in the building will be rented out at a market rate. The 568-foot-tall business property topped out 52 stories last year, and it is expected to be completed late this year. Move-in will start during the summer when some of the portions are already completed.
