Home Design Trends: Is Warm Wood the Next Kitchen Trend?

My Domaine spotted some inspiring kitchen designs in Pinterest that features warm wood textures and furniture, and the site thinks that this could be the new kitchen trend.

Featured on the website are some of their favorite designs and styles where warm wood was incorporated. One of the kitchens featured is the stunning Chicago kitchen designed by Steven Gambrel. The kitchen features warm wood cabinets which complement the barrel-vault ceiling and the French blue moldings which transformed it into an elegant space.

The site claims that warm wood is best paired with copper, and one of the examples they showed was the minimalist Scandinavian kitchen where the warm wood cabinets are complemented by the warm copper tone colors of the dining chairs which also have black accents.

Warm wood kitchens are not only monochrome as they also go well with a marble backsplash and brass accents to complete the luxurious look of the space. It was also said that another color which will look great against the warm tones of wood is teal. In one Manhattan kitchen, the warm wood cabinets were complemented with brass and teal leather counter stools which made the space bright.

There are tons of ways to transform the kitchen into an elegant space. The site said that horizontal lines will elongate the kitchen and make the space look longer. The warm wood tones can also be introduced in wooden ceilings and bar stool, aside from cabinets. There are also wooden bowls and accents available in the market to decorate the kitchen.

The light warm wood colors go great with brass and black accents. Using marble backsplash is a timeless addition to any kitchen, and accenting it with brass or black decoration adds elegance to the room. Darker shades of wood also add a lot of texture in the kitchen. To keep the space balanced, it has to be paired with painted brick walls and wood floors.
