Co-Working Space Provider Gravity Triples is Presence in Sydney

The modern times has given rise to the sharing market from transportation to living spaces via companies like Uber and Airbnb. Now, even workplaces can be shared as shown by Gravity which offers boutique workspaces to its members. They even have facilities similar to what companies have for their own employees such as open-plan workspaces, meeting rooms or function facilities, pantry quiet and lounges. There are even lockers and bike racks.

In just about two years' time, according to Commercial Real Estate, co-working space Gravity has increased its presence in Sydney by three folds. The reason was the rise in demand for first-class quality flexible work spaces from professionals and experienced businesspersons. Gravity Coworking has just sealed a five-year agreement to occupy two additional floors of the Dexus' 50 Carrington Street building. This adds 2 more levels to its existing set up on the third level.

With this, Gravity triples its working space from 950 square meters to 2850 square meters allowing it to serve three times more the current number of 110 members. With such growth, founder Jacqui Esdaile has dropped Gravity's "boutique" and now is known as a "premium" offering that also targets high-profile members who can pay for more expensive services.

"The appetite for coworking is getting bigger and bigger," Esdaile said. "The model stays as a coworking model but we have started to build in semi-private spaces for businesses who do want a more traditional private space."

Esdaile at the moment has its eyes on the Sydney and Melbourne market because the smaller start-up community in Brisbane had a modest operation with market that is less willing to pay premium prices. "We've had to rethink our price point in Brisbane," she said.

In a previous report, Dexus, owner of the 50 Carrington Street building where Gravity operates and GoGet have partnered up to provide exclusive car-share spots for the occupants of the buildings owned by Dexus in Sydney. With this can already imagine how much people have positively accepted the sharing economy.
