Although actress and comedienne Leslie Jones may have a lot of things going for her this past year, her New York City apartment clearly needed some help. With West Elm's aide, she was able to transform her chaotic home into a stylish abode she can come home to after a busy day at work.
With the help of home stylist extraordinaire Johanna Mele, they worked on cleaning and decorating Jones' apartment through simple decorating hacks and tricks. According to the site, Jones was having problems with clutter in her home and she feared that she would have to leave the space to look for a larger home. In the video featured on the site, Mele assured Jones that even the smallest fixtures and furnishings could go a long way in making the apartment the place Jones always wanted. They worked together to completely transform the space while implementing simple ideas to make sure that they incorporate Jones' style and personality in each of the room.
With this home makeover, Curbed has listed some of the tips people can learn from the project. First is to always remember to make the wall a gallery. One of the easiest ways to freshen up or transform a space is to add artworks on the wall, and it was also suggested to spread the decorations to create an illusion or order inside the home.
The next tip is to find the perfect pieces to store items and at the same time save some space. In this project, Jones was able to incorporate a convertible coffee table inside her home. A multi-functional night stand can also be the best choice. Lastly, it is always important to have balance inside the home.
Aside from being on "Saturday Night Live," Jones also made appearances in movies like "Top Five" and "Trainwreck." This year, she will be appearing as Patty Tolan in the highly anticipated all-female reboot of "Ghostbusters" along with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Chris Hemsworth.
