What this Canadian Island Offers if Trump Wins

Election is fast approaching and America is excited to know who's going to be the country's next president. Yet, it seems like a lot even more are excited if Donald Trump wins as Canada has something for them, well actually, for everyone who may be thinking of looking for somewhere else to stay.

"Hi Americans! Donald Trump may become the President of your country! If that happens, and you decide to get the hell out of there, might I suggest moving to Cape Breton Island!" a website reads, linking to the Destination Cape Breton association.

According to CNN Money, this website positions the Canadian island's health care system and housing market against presidentiable candidate Trump's policies. Enticing the people to live in Cape Breton, located in the East Coast from the U.S., at the eastern end of Nova Scotia, the page also mentions the benefits of choosing the island to start one's new life in. It showcases the island as a place where abortions are allowed and Muslims can freely live. The site highlights that the island does not build walls for anything. Health care can be enjoyed for free and there's nothing to worry about crime because the place does not allow someone possessing handguns, not to mention comparing Canada's weather as a much better one than that of New York.

Moreover, Buzz Feed also promotes the island's pride of having a carbon neutral university, mentioning the place as a perfect venue for a hockey tournament and other outdoor activities.

The website's invitation was posted a few days ago but it has already received 50,000 inquiries on the island, according to Mary Tulle, CEO of Destination Cape Breton.

On the other hand, while Cape Breton is just chilling and waiting for everyone to come visit the place, CNN Money says Cape Breton's population is in sharp decline, which Tulle blamed on the place's shuttered coal mines, oil prices and steel mills. But despite this, Tulle herself cannot deny the beauty of Cape Breton, expressing that Trump himself would even like to be there because of the place's Scotch-Irish heritage, considering that his mother was from Scotland.

Meanwhile, Rob Calabrese, Cape Breton resident and a radio host, shared via CTV News that CB's lifestyle is really amazing that he hopes people should also appreciate.

"There are millions of people on this continent who, if they knew about the lifestyle here on Cape Breton, they would think, 'This is for me,'" Calabrese told CTV News.
