Julia Roberts Drops $7M for Another Malibu Home

Following her just-reduced Hawaii beach home price, Julia Roberts has purchased another house in Malibu.

This ranch-style house is her second property to her long-time mansion in Malibu, Los Angeles Times reveals. Situated right across the street from Roberts mansion, this newly-purchased home has been out in the market for $6.84 million.

According to The Real Deal New York, her second home has nine rooms surrounded by large lawns and gardens. It also has a trellis-topped sitting area. Its living room has a rustic charm with a slopped wood ceiling with exposed beams. Its wooden floors and fire place in the interior make the house more endearing, taking you back to the '50s. Listed two years ago with an asking price of $7.85 million but was taken out in the listings afterwards; this property has an entrance guarded by a gated motor court.

This 48-year-old Hollywood actress was gallant enough to have dropped millions for a property in Point Dume area, which made Daily Mail consider her as a woman who collects multi-million dollar properties, not stamps or sports memorabilia. To date, Roberts and husband Matthew Moder are proud property owners of this new mansion, Variety says.

The "Pretty Woman" actress' new mansion is described as a modest house on more than an acre of land but its location is the best feature for this multi-awarded star. The Daily Mail reports that Point Dume is one of the most desired areas in Malibu, yet the place's location is even extra special to the "Nothing Hill" leading lady considering that it is just near her first mansion.

Meanwhile, just before the property has been spotted by the actress, it had been in the process of foreclosure a number of times, property records show. The source also says that Roberts has big plans for this new mansion.

Julia is one of the top celebrity real estate owners with her large real estate collection in the U.S., not to mention her three apartments in Gramercy Park, New York, two ocean-front properties in Hanalei, Hawaii, and a rural ranch property in New Mexico, among others.

To date, one of her Hawaiian homes is still out in the market with its new asking price of $21.95 million, cut from the initial tag of $29.85 million, Realty Today has learned.
