New York City Listings: Places With Affordable Housing

Looking for affordable housing in big cities like New York is not easy. For those who are looking for cheaper housing options, New York Curbed listed some of the buildings and neighborhoods that offer affordable homes for anyone.

At The Ashland, a FXFOWLE-designed luxury rental in the BAM Cultural District, there are 228 affordable units that are listed in the HPD's housing lottery. The available units include studio apartments that are priced for as little as $801 a month. There are also three-bedroom units that are available for $3,649 a month. The building offers amenities like a fitness center and a roof deck, but residents who occupy the affordable units may pay for the use of such amenities.

The building at Kent Avenue and North 5th Street in Williamsburg is also offering 33 affordable units which include studio apartments for only $563 a month. There are also two-bedroom units which can be rented for only $733 a month. The building is located at the epicenter of Williamsburg's trendiest stretch, and it offers amenities such as a fitness room and community lounge.

L&M Development Partners created another affordable housing building in the city with this Harlem residence. It has 34 affordable units which are all currently part of the city's housing lottery. It offers studio apartments and three-bedroom units which start at $640 per month. Some of the building's amenities include a communal lounge and a terrace.

Another building in Harlem, the P.S. 186, offers 78 affordable apartments which start at $508 per month. The building offers 15 studio apartments and 23 one-bedroom apartments.

Meanwhile, 13 apartments in five of Brooklyn-based developer St. Nick's Alliance's buildings in Williamsburg are now being offered at affordable prices. The units which are located at 7 Stagg Street, 568 Graham Avenue, 198 Montrose Avenue, 40 Scholes Street, and 44 Morgan Ave, respectively, range from studio apartments to three-bedroom apartments which start at $756 per month.
