It's not uncommon for one actor to pass on some wisdom to another actor who will be taking over a role. Christian Bale, the actor for "The Dark Knight" series recently passed on some advice to Ben Affleck, who plays Batman in upcoming flick, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
However, from the way Bale delivered one comment, it has some people asking if the "Exodus: Gods and Kings" is bitter about having someone take over his superhero role so soon.
According to NY Daily News, Bale offered up some helpful advice to Affleck about the costume.
"The first one was, 'Be able to take a piss by yourself,' " said Bale, who stared in three batman films from 2005 to 2012. "I found it to be ridiculously unheroic between takes when I said, 'Excuse me, I need to pee, could somebody undo me please?' "
His second advice was to make impress upon the costume designer to make the cowl a bit comfortable. "I took three people 20 minutes with tools in order to take that cowl off (my) head," says the actor.
The actor also had some comments on moving on from the series and letting another actor take his place.
"The baton has been passed, that's the nature of Batman," commented Bale. "Of course, it was passed a lot quicker than I expected, but I completely understand."
With the new generation growing up with new Batman toys that will feature the image of Affleck instead of his own, Bale says there are no hard feelings.
NY Daily News noted that Bale has already said that he will not return to the series if Christopher Nolan will not be directing.
In earlier interviews, Bale has admitted that hanging up his cape has been "bitter-sweet." Independent.IE recalled the actor's comments following the release of the final installment of Christopher Nolan's trilogy "The Dark Knight Rises."
"I wasn't sure that Chris was going to make a third one, and it's meant a great deal in my life, so it is bitter-sweet. But he's saying it is time to say goodbye, so it's time to say goodbye," said the actor.
To date, no trailer or teaser video has been released. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theaters in 2016.
