Having an organized pantry can give a lot of benefits aside from avoiding clutter inside the home. Listed below are some of the tips to make sure that the pantry is neat and organized all the time.
Real Simple's Art Director Rebecca Hart gave useful tips on how she was able to organize her messy pantry. By using clear food containers, she was able to stock nuts, grains and other items. She said that when buying food containers, it should be done one at a time to test which sizes would work. With clear containers, she was able to clear more space on her pantry shelves, and it was easier for her to find what she was looking for.
Meanwhile, organizing expert Emma Gordo also shared some useful tips for organizing a pantry. She said that it is important to keep important items within reach so that the other items won't be moved around so much. One can also save on shelve space by using door hooks to store lunch bags and soft coolers at the back of the pantry door. If the pantry area doesn't have a door, then temporary hooks will work well on the walls.
HGTV also recommends using easy view cabinet organizers for cans and bottles which make the food visible to make creating shopping lists easier. Stackable containers will also save a lot of cabinet sand shelve space. It would help a lot if food is taken out of its original package since it could be bulky and may take a lot of space.
Lastly, pack away rarely used items on the top of the shelf or at the back of the cabinets. Appliances like ice cream makers take up a lot of space in the kitchen, so keep them out of sight to provide space for more important items.
