Looking for designer decorations for a reasonable price? Interior designer Victoria Solomon of Victoria Elizabeth Design shared some of her tips in looking for stylish and designer pieces on Craigslist.
According to Popsugar, Solomon's New York apartment is filled with designer deals, from her $65 campaign dresser to her authentic 1970s Pace Collection brass and glass coffee table which retails around $3,500 but which she only bought for $85. It reportedly took her a total of eight months to complete all the items inside her apartment, and she shared how people can also look for authentic designer items for a bargain price.
Solomon said that Craigslist is the best place to look for case goods like cabinets, desks and tables. It would be hard for someone to find anything that has fabric on it unless one plans to replace the upholstery. She shared that the secret for her good finds is the app that she is using. She revealed that she is using cPro Craigslist, which allows people to search for any item across the country.
Solomon also shared that the trick to get the seller to commit to the buyer is to message or call the seller as soon as possible. Even if you're still unsure about purchasing the product, it is still important to let the seller know that you are interested. It is important to set the date and time sooner to ensure that you can have the first dibs on the item. To be able to negotiate to the desired bargain price, she suggested hesitating for a bit when talking to the seller. By doing so, the seller might be pushed to lower the price.
To make sure that the item is authentic, it is important to do some research beforehand. The item can also be verified by asking local antique shops if they think if the item is original.
