'Unbroken' Trailer, Movie & News: Angelina Jolie Suffering From Mild Case of Chicken Pox

Box office queen Angelina Jolie is down with a case of the chicken pox.

Universal Studios has released a video where the "Maleficent" actress explaining to fans that due to chicken pox, she is unable to attend the premieres for her new film, "Unbroken."

The wife of actor Brad Pitt wore a white tank and had red dots all over her body. Jolie said on camera: "I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days, which is that I found out last night that I have chickenpox."

The star added: "So, I will be home itching and missing everyone and I can't believe it because this film means so much to me. I just can't believe it but ah, such is life. There it is and uh, send everyone my love and hope everything goes well."

In the Facebook post that shared the news, the 39-year-old actress who directed the film commented: "You have to laugh at the timing. I was sure nothing could stop me from supporting Unbroken. I am heartbroken to miss our premiere, most of all the chance to be there with Louie's family, Phil's daughter Karen, veterans and all the guests who are coming."

Universal shares that Brad Pitt along with Jolie's children will be representing the star at the premiere.

"We all wish Angelina a speedy recovery and look forward to her returning to her work very soon. She is in very good spirits, considering after two years of hard work, she will not be there the night it finally premieres," said Universal Pictures.

The news about Jolie's condition comes after private emails between Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman Amy Pascal and Hollywood producer Scott Rudin were leaked to the public. Daily Mail noted how the electronic communications referred to Jolie as a "minimally talented spoiled brat."

Since the leak, both Pascal and Rudin have apologized for their comments.

"Unbroken" features Jack O'Connell, who plays Louis Zamperini, an Olympic distance runner captured by the Japanese during World War II.

The film is set to hit theaters on Christmas.

The details as to how Jolie got chicken pox has yet to be disclosed.
