The increase of tech-creative office in and around the Silicon Beach had created a rush in the residential market. Architects, developers and interior designers are rapidly increasing in numbers to understand and install specialized home requirements for these tech executives. With offices made specifically to young moguls, it appeared that they were deviating from the Cape Cod style of homes in the Palisades.
A 1.3 square mile area in Playa Vista had become a hotspot. The area had become the address of the head honchos biggest firms in the world, with homes getting bigger and more luxurious. The Brookfield Residential just opened its latest neighborhood, Marlowe, including 30 family homes, which cost range from $2 million to over $3 million, Brookfieldsocal reported. This by far, is the highest-priced within the community, where the other new single-family houses run beginning from the lowest up to the mid $2 million.
Marlowe was created basically for the tech executives, with the high-speed data connection and category 6 data wiring for phone lines in all bedrooms, the family room, the kitchen, including the view on the terrace, heading horizons to Yahoo office, IMAX and YouTube.
Designer-developer Kim Gordon had worked with glam designers like Kerry Joyce and Mary McDonald, and now centers around the high and low design to serve the tech executives. She recently made a modern home, which was farmhouse-inspired on one of the coveted walk streets in Venice.
Interior designer Jamie Bush said that the tech homeowners within Venice were interested in making on a storied history of skate and surf culture. The atmosphere was a clean and modern architecture which was made with natural materials, graphics and bold colors.
Interior designer Peter Dunham had also envisioned his clientele transfer from mostly industry to the new media. DU Architects' Robert Thibodeau, on the other hand, saw a different outlook. According to him, high-tech folks prefer contemporary style with an organic feeling just like the Edison lights, Hollywood Reporter reported.
