‘Million Dollar Listing’: Spoof of the Real Estate Reality TV Show Launched in Kickstarter

Bravo's popular real estate TV show, "Million Dollar Listing," may have a spoof soon, if the Kickstarter project launched by a man from New Jersey gains enough funds. The said project is reportedly intended to just "make fun of Detroit," as Detroit Metro Times puts it.

According to the report, the man who launched the Kickstarter project, Chris Sorrentino, is seeking $15,000 to make the spoof. The description of the project reads, "We will explore the lives of two big time agents in the city of Detroit."

Sorrentino describes himself on his Kickstarter profile as an amateur filmmaker. Metro Times states that when Sorrentino was asked why his spoof project of "Million Dollar Listing" deserves people's money, he simply said, "Because Detroit's a pretty poor city."

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that someone attempted to make a spoof of "Million Dollar Listing." Last month it was reported that "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" was "hilariously spoofed" in the new parody show "Bajillion Dollar Propertie$," Bravo reports.

According to the site, the new TV show will debut on March 17. It will be available on Seeso, the comedy streaming platform of NBC. The report further states that the show will feature comedy celebrities in guest appearances such as Adam Scott, Nick Kroll, Gillian Jacobs, Patton Oswalt, Jason Mantzoukas and "Weird Al" Yankovic. The trailer of the "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" spoof shows how it's difficult for real estate brokers to work with their clients but in a comical way.

"Bajillion Dollar Properties" is further described as a semi-scripted comedy and will feature real estate agents Dan Ahdoot, Tim Baltz, Ryan Gaul, Mandell Maughan, Tawny Newsome, Drew Tarver, and Paul F. Tompkins. The show was created by Kulap Vilaysack, actress and co-host of the "Who Charted" podcast. Her co-executive producers are Tom Lennon, Ben Garant, Scott Aukerman and David Jargowsky.
