After successfully selling his Upper East Side townhouse for $22.5 million, interior designer Juan Pablo Molyneux found a new place in a $4.75 million New York duplex. According to New York Curbed, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom duplex at 322 East 57th Street is now the new home of the renowned designer.
Clearly, the new property is way cheaper compared to his previous home. According to reports, the Upper East Side townhouse which was his previous home had to go through a series of price cuts before it found a new owner. The 15-room limestone mansion at 29 E. 69th St. between Park and Madison Avenues was first listed in 2012 for a whopping $48 million, then he tried to lower it to $34 million.
Listing details of the property reveal that Molyneux filled the place with eclectic pieces which he collected from his international travels. It features a pool and two full floors of entertainment space. It has a total of six bedrooms and eight bathrooms and also a total of eight fireplaces.
Now the designer is residing in a new home which features a large north-facing terrace and 20-foot high ceilings in the living area. Although it only has two fireplaces, the duplex is still a good place to host parties or gatherings because of its dramatic characteristics. The large windows invite a lot of natural light to come in, and the sunlight can surely be enjoyed in every room of the residence.
The two bedrooms which are located on the first floor features an en-suite master bathroom and walk-in closets. The north- and south-facing terraces each have their own fireplaces. The second floor can be accessed through the stunning spiral staircase where the two additional bedrooms are located. The second floor also has a mezzanine hallway which looks down to the living room. The duplex is said to be located in one of the finest Co-op buildings in Manhattan and is said to be truly one of a kind.
