Alan Potamkin Net Worth: Business Magnate Lists Gables Mansion for $49M

Auto magnate Alan Potamkin relisted his nine-bedroom, 15-bathroom waterfront compound for $49 million. According to Miami Curbed, the property was initially listed for $67 million last May 2015. After a few months of having no buyer, it seems like the businessman is changing its strategy with the property's astounding price cut.

It was reported that the 2.1-acre property includes the 1.5-acre adjacent lot. Now Potamkin has split the original listing in two and decided to sell the mansion first. The residence sits on one of the most coveted parcels in South Florida, and it includes 530 feet of bay frontage. It was said that the basketball superstar LeBron James wanted to buy this place in 2010 before he officially announced his intention to join the Miami Heat.

Built in 2000, the three-story mansion features multiple kitchens, libraries, three powder rooms and a 1,500-bottle wine room. According to The Real Deal, the 20,862-square-foot mansion has a chef's kitchen and a separate family kitchen, a formal dining room, a family room, a corporate office complete with a private bathroom, a children's playroom and a guest room with its own bathroom.

The property also features additional amenities like an elevator, three fireplaces, two built-in saltwater aquariums and an aviary. Records show that Potamkin just paid roughly $2 million for the property in 1987. He designed the residence to include a lower level which has a large game room with kitchenette, a full gym with boxing room and a massage room. There are also a two-bedroom nanny's quarters, staff room, laundry area and a separate entrance. The grounds are complete with koi pond, basketball/tennis court and a mini kitchen.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Potamkin has an estimated net worth of $150 million. He is serving as the co-chairman of his father's company, the Potamkin Automotive Group, with his brother, Robert.
