How to Organize Your Messy Cords and Cable Wires at Home

In this day and age, it's pretty much normal to have more than just one charger at home. You may have multiple cell phones along with a laptop, a gaming console, and your home theater system. Unfortunately, these can sometimes make such a mess that you no longer know which cord powers which. Here are some ways to organize your messy cords and cables at home.

Clutter is often associated with a messy personality, but hey, that does not necessarily apply all the time, right? However, having tangled and messy cords at home is often an unsightly thing and it can also cause confusion.

You may have once tried to untangle them only to realize after a few hours that they are back to their messy, tangled state. According to Realtor.com, the first thing you need to do when organizing your cords at home is to label them.

"I label all my cables on both ends of the cord so that it doesn't matter which end of the cord I might be unplugging from its connection. I can quickly- and accurately-plug it back in," said Lauren Williams from Casual Uncluttering.

Labeling your cords can be a pretty easy thing to do. You can print some labels at home, or you can even make use of bread ties to indicate which cable powers which.

Aside from this, keeping them together using color-coded ties is also a great way of organizing your cables. You may also keep them inside a fish tank tube if you do not want to keep them as organized as possible.

However, if you wish to save up on this project, Homedit listed 15 DIY projects to organize your cords and cables.

Replace the fish tank tube mentioned above with toilet paper rolls. Simply place the cables inside the rolls and label the outside for easy identification. You can also roll the cords using a raffia ribbon or go all out and create your own charging station with the use of a box.
