After purchasing the property two years ago, actor/comedian Fred Armisen finally decided to let go of his Silver Lake bungalow for $949,000.
According to Los Angeles Curbed, the property located in the hills east of Glendale Boulevard has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Originally built in 1927, the home has been thoroughly renovated to give it a more modern design.
It was reported that the 1,456-square-foot cottage had a couple of enhancements including upgrades in the bathroom, roof and plumbing. A water heater, 200-amp electric panel and heating and cooling systems were also added.
The finishes include reclaimed barn-wood, marble countertops and custom cabinets. Listing details of the property reveal that the bungalow combines the vintage beauty of the original home and the modern amenities which were added for comfort and convenience.
The place is said to be filled with a lot of natural light with its large windows. The kitchen which was upgraded with Samsung appliances is designed with refinished white oak floors, custom cabinets and handcrafted light fixtures.
There are two large bedrooms which could be used as an office space or den. The large master bedroom has an attached bathroom and walk-in closet. The exterior of the home is a stunning backyard with a pathway to a private deck and outdoor dining area. The bungalow sits on a 3,581-square-foot lot, and Armisen bought it for $763,000.
Aside from being an actor, Armisen is also a screenwriter, director and producer. He is widely known as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 2002 to 2013. He appeared in a number of films like "Euro Trip," "Anchorman," and "Cop Out." He is also known as one of the creators of the comedy series "Portlandia" for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in three consecutive years, from 2012 to 2014.
