Aby Rosen, co-founder of real estate design giant RFR Holding, will be opening 11 Howard, a New York hotel driven by furniture, craftsmanship, and fashion in the most elite district of SoHo. Guests are expected to experience the feel of New York City in every corner through the hotel's contemporary art, design, cuisine, and fashion. 11 Howard will officially open on April 1, 2016, and had already begun taking reservations.
11 Howard's Creative Director, Anda Andrei of Anda Andrei Design, in cooperation with interior designers Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, have meticulously designed the hotel to exude the timeless elegance of the Danish design tradition with the authentic, industrial nature of New York. The environment is crafted to be open, warm, and light. It is expected to challenge the norm of how a hotel should look and feel. Guests at 11 Howard will be greeted by consciously curated objects. According to Art News, each area of the hotel will display a classic a painting, sculpture, piece of furniture or a digital art-piece hand picked to match the guest experience.
Aby Rosen's architectural design for 11 Howard is framed by the iconic architecture firm Beyer Blinder Belle. The hotel's location was moved from its first position on Lafayette Street to the vibrant and energetic Howard Street, which is one of the only streets in SoHo that maintains the original feel of the early 1800s.
Aby Rosen's hotel will welcome guests with majestic trees and marquee lights creating a gateway to the hotel reception and giving a stunning view of the custom-made black steel cylindrical staircase connecting to the second floor amenities. According to Haute Living, the neon art piece by Dan Attoe, situated above the staircase is the first glimpse at the seamless blending of the old and the new. The 15-foot high ceilings are accented with oak wood paneling.
