After the cold winter season, it is now time for spring! Here are some ways to start spring cleaning to get your house ready for the new season.
For cleaning around the house, HGTV suggested starting with the windows and washing them inside and out. For window screens, rub them with kerosene before rinsing them with soap and water to make sure that that the screens are cleaned all throughout. Make sure to also do it in a well-ventilated area because kerosene can be harmful.
For dab drapes, run them through an air-fluff cycle in the dryer with a wet towel. Run it for 15 minutes before hanging immediately. For window blinds, clean them with wet cloth.
To make sure everything is clean, dust the entire home thoroughly. Take everything off the shelves, table tops and counters to make sure every spot is dustless. It is also the best time to include the spaces and corners which are usually neglected throughout the year like the top of kitchen cabinets, ceiling fans and doorways.
Do not also forget to wash the trashcans and spray them with disinfectant spray after leaving them upside down to dry.
In the living room, clean the upholstered furniture by vacuuming pillows and the spaces underneath the cushions. In the kitchen, take time to clean inside the refrigerator with the use of abrasive salt and bubbly soda water.
Woman's Day also suggested to thoroughly clean the bathroom with homemade cleaners. To make the doors shine, rub a teaspoon of lemon oil on the glass shower doors to remove the water build-up stains. To remove the mildew in the curtain liner, just throw it in the laundry with a few towels to help scrub it clean.
To clean the toiler, drop a teaspoon of concentrated powered mix drink in the bowl as the citric acid can act like a scrubber. Let it sit for a few minutes before flushing.
