Celebrity Homes for Sale: Former NBA Player Brad Daugherty Sells Santa Barbara Home for $2.8M

After having a successful career in the sports industry, former NBA player Brad Daugherty is now a real estate investor and he is selling his California home for $2.795 million. According to Realtor, it has only been less than a year after the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team owner bought the three-bedroom ranch home in Santa Barbara. He reportedly bought the place for $2.36 million and is now looking for a $435,000 profit from the sales.

Los Angeles Times reports that the ranch was originally built in 1953 and was recently remodeled. The single story home has an open space floor plan for the formal areas, while the kitchen was redesigned by removing the kitchen island and adding a wide open shelving space to make the space feel bigger and brighter. Bi-fold doors which open to the back patio were also added. It has a total of 2,136 square feet of space and the interior details include inlaid hardwood floors, custom lighting and crown moldings.

The exterior features a stone-lined patio with a fire pit and lounge setting with a built-in barbeque. One can enjoy the scenery of the grounds filled with mature oaks and palms. There is also a swimming pool, and adjacent to it is a cabana with an outdoor shower. The two-acre land also has a two-stall barn with tack room and a lot of space for outdoor leisure.

Daugherty began his basketball career when he played under Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina. He started to make a name for himself in the sports industry when he became the starring center for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He retired in 1994 because of a back injury and began to pursue a new career our of his passion for NASCAR. He owned several stakes in different teams. He also worked as a professional racing analyst for ESPN.
