Home Office Ideas: How to Design Your Office According to Architectural Digest Design Studio Designer

Home office is a nifty nook where you can get busy with work without being interrupted and while enjoying the comforts of your home. To boost your productivity and maximize the use of such space, here are some home office ideas for 2016, according to Architectural Digest studio designer Amy Lau.

According to Architectural Digest's article, "beige is the new black" this 2016. Lau shared that luxurious neutrals reign supreme, as evident in the Architectural Digest Design Show which will take place until March 20.

Among the home office ideas and tips Lau gave is to incorporate nature or the outdoors in the home office design. It is advised to use nature as inspiration in the home office design by using items such as the Flowerbox Wall Garden Lau used which features preserved moss and tree branches.

As previously mentioned, Lau advises to use a neutral palette in home office. For a project, she combined beige with off-white for a calming effect. Neutral hues also make any space easy on the eyes.

To add a luxurious touch to the space, it's also reportedly best to combine neutral colors with brass furniture. The brass' warm shimmer can add a unique touch to your home office. You can shop for brass chairs and tables and use them in your home office.

Meanwhile, HGTV also listed some tips on home office design. The site suggests investing in a good office chair that's ergonomically correct and comfortable. After all, you can't expect to work properly if you're experiencing discomfort.

It's also important that you use the colors that you love in your home office. The site advises to paint the walls with your favorite colors that can affect your mood positively. Keep in mind though that the colors you choose should complement each other.

Lastly, it's also important that your home office has ample light for you to work properly even at night. An overhead light and a small lamp on the desk are strongly advised.
