Home Renovation: Texas House Gets Renovated to Look Like an L.A. Home

An old house in Austin, Texas was recently renovated to look like a new house in Los Angeles, California.

Just recently, Austin-based designer Elizabeth Mollen opened up about what it was like renovating a house by simply changing the color of the paint. Mollen's Chantilly Lace project became a huge hit among her clients who realized that renovation doesn't require huge changes in furniture and other things. Sometimes, the simple change in the color of the walls can already transform the home.

Her client, a writer, asked Mollen to help her transform the drab in her home and said that renovations ought to be minimal. At first, Mollen thought that the request of her client was something she couldn't do because what renovation could be done without actual renovation?

While speaking with the publication, Mollen told Elle Decor, "This project shows how much paint and good décor can change the entire look and feel of a space. And we didn't have to knock down any walls!"

Meanwhile, since Mollen was from Los Angeles, she wanted her client's home to have a feel of the sunny city. With this, she decided to enliven the choices for the wall paint if only to make sure that it will have a dramatic effect throughout the entire household. Inside the house, Mollen decided to add pillows, rugs and new wallpapers to make it look completely different from what it was like before.

Photos of the before-and-after look of the writer's house were also shared online on Erin Williamson's site.

If you are thinking of having your home renovated, bear in mind that you don't need to have major changes indoors and outdoors. Sometimes, all you really need is a good paint job and an even better architect and designer.
