Celebrity Homes for Sale: Designer Max Azria Asks $88M for Holmby Hills Mansion

Despite failing to find a buyer for his mansion, fashion designer, Max Azria still decided to increase the asking price of his Holmby Hills home by $3 million. According to Los Angeles Curbed, the BCBG Max Azria Group founder originally listed his estate last year for $85 million but removed it from the market after eight months. Now he has decided to put it back on the market with a price increase of $3million.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Azria and his wife Lubov purchased the property in 2005 and spent over $30 million in the renovations. The new listing agent at Hilton & Hyland revealed to the site that the price increase is understandable considering that the price of luxury homes around Los Angeles is on the rise. With over 30,000 square feet of area, the property which was originally designed by celebrity architect Paul R. Williams in the 1930s has been updated by the couple over the last couple of years.

The two-story home's entryway features a floor-to-ceiling waterfall chandelier which is made of 150,000 crystals. It has a total of 17 bedrooms, a home theater which has a candy and popcorn bar, a home office which features a domed, gold-leafed ceiling and large common areas.

The residence sits on roughly three acres of land and there is a swimming pool outside with a bar and a Moroccan-themed pool house complete with sauna, spa and fireplace. There is also a tennis court with an elevated viewing box, a greenhouse with glass ceiling that was converted into a gym and a second greenhouse where organic vegetables were produced. There are also multiple gardens including the French Garden which features a free-standing outdoor fireplace.

Real estate agents Alla Furman and Branden and Rayni Williams revealed that they are now working on advertising the property and have even filmed a video to help sell the house.
