The famed Fort Lauderdale mansion with a synagogue finally found its buyer with NFL superstar Antonio Brown who dropped $6.6 million for the property. According to Miami Curbed, the property was being offered for $7.5 million in February. Million Dollar Listing's Chad Carroll was the property's listing agent, and he revealed that the home has been in the market for more than a year before he took the listing last month.
After almost two weeks, the property went under contract with $900,000 less than the asking price. This would be a great deal for Brown as he revealed in an interview in 2011 when he was still a rookie that he became homeless when he was 16. He revealed that he was then sleeping in cars and was struggling to find a roof above his head. Now with his contract, he can buy any home in the area.
Listing details reveal that the estate features custom doors, ceilings and other world-class finishes like Italian marble floors. It has a total of 12 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, and it also has an expansive living and dining areas. It also has a home theater with stadium seating and a synagogue.
On the outside, there is a custom outdoor kitchen, wet bar and a saltwater swimming pool. As of writing, there is still no news if Brown is planning to keep the synagogue or make other changes to the property.
The 27-year-old became one of the league's best receivers, tying with Atlanta's Julio Jones last season with the most catches with 136. He only finished second to Jones with only 1,834 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. The four-time Pro Bowler is a Miami native and attended Miami Norland High School before he was able to star at Central Michigan. He is now heading into the fourth year of the six-year $43 million contract he signed in 2012. Aside from being an athlete, Brown also joined the reality series "Dancing with the Stars."
