House Tour: Here's a Look at Martin Raffone & William McIntosh's Moroccan-Inspired House

Here's a look at the Moroccan-inspired house owned by Martin Raffone and William McIntosh. According to Elle Décor, Raffone and McIntosh are both successful interior designers in New York City who had the same goal - and that is to have a beautiful and unique-looking house.

It took Raffone and McIntosh approximately five years to complete the renovation of the riad, and as a result, they were very pleased to see that it had a beautiful terrace, courtyard, a second floor and so many other features.

While speaking with the publication, Raffone said, "We understood pretty quickly that it does not work in Marrakech the way it works in Manhattan. It's a much more organic process. The craftsmen in Morocco interpret, misinterpret and bring their own vision of ancient craft to every detail of the project."

Meanwhile, McIntosh added that there's a huge difference between building homes in Morocco and New York City. In the former, they are more accustomed to doing fussy and technical work. On the contrary, their work in Morocco requires them to be a little bit more spontaneous.

In other news, the two architects also revealed that there was a huge mishap during the construction of the property. However, it didn't take them very long to fall in love with it.

When they were still on a trip abroad, they gave contractors some instructions on what they want for their bathroom. When they returned from the trip, what they saw was completely different from what they had previously imagined. Luckily, Raffone loved the mistake so they didn't even bother to have it changed.

"What an incredible misinterpretation. This version was way better," he said.

If you want to own a Moroccan-inspired home, you might want to take inspiration from Raffone and McIntosh's property. Be prepared to spend a little extra though!
