Celebrity Homes: Hugh Jackman Acquires New Beachside Pad

Actor Hugh Jackman has splurged on a new property in Bondi, a suburb in Sydney, Australia.

According to Domain.com.au, the "X-Men" actor has reportedly spent around $6 million on a penthouse of a new apartment complex that SJB Architects designed. The pad has three bedrooms a large balcony with a stunning view of the ocean. It also has a direct lift to the apartment and two secured car park.

Because Hugh and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have recently sold their house in Melbourne, the Bondi pad will likely be their main home in Australia, Popsugar reported. It was a two-bedroom home in Melbourne CBD that they bought in 1997 and sold last year after almost 20 years. The apartment 4B, 27-37 Russell Street was auctioned through Dingle Partners and was able to fetch AU$740,000, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Jackman also owns a triplex apartment in New York which he reportedly bought for $35 million about five years ago. The three-floor property in West Village measures 11,000 square feet and has a view of the Hudson River. According to Celebuzz, it has five bedrooms, three terraces, huge double-height ceilings and swirling staircase. It also has a professional gourmet kitchen, an area for exercise, a recreation room, sauna, library, music room and wine cellar.

The actor has recently been spotted along the beaches of Bondi and most recently became a news item after saving some swimmers from a riptide. According to CNN, Jackman rescued his son Oscar, along with other swimmers who were caught in a strong riptide last Saturday.

The North Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club said there were multiple rescue events that day because of rough waters and when they deemed the water to be dangerous, it was temporarily closed.

Celebrity Net Worth said the 47-year-old actor has a net worth of US$150 million.
