Celebrity Homes for Sale: Detroit Tigers Slugger Miguel Cabrera Lists Michigan Home for $2M

Detroit Tigers first baseman and slugger Miguel Cabrera is selling his Birmingham, MI home for $2 million. According to Realtor who talked with the listing agent, Maureen Francis, Cabrera purchased the property in 2008, which is also the same year that it was completed. It was also the first year of Cabrera's season in the Motor City.

According to Francis, the home was a spec build, and Cabrera was able to buy it early enough so that he could make selection for the finishes. The 32-year-old Venezuelan slugger was said to be looking for a home with plenty of space because it would be a great place to host family gatherings.

Francis revealed that after buying the house, they finished a bonus room on the upper floor and added two additional bedrooms in the basement. They also placed a stunning media room. Another addition that was made recently was the outdoor patio complete with a built-in grill and fire pit.

Listing details reveal that the house has a total of 5,762 square feet of area and features a paneled library with coffered ceiling, hardwood floors. The basement has a bar, and the media room has leather seats. The stone-custom built Tudor home is located in the most sought-after neighborhoods in Birmingham which is close to the downtown shops and restaurants. It is also close to the neighborhood elementary school.

The chef's kitchen is designed with Granite Island, and it is adjoined with a morning room. The master bedroom is spacious and has a marble-designed bathroom and soaking tub. It is also complete with a walk-in closet. Aside from the entertaining outdoor patio, it also has an attached three-car garage on the outside.

It was reported that the two-time American League MVP recently snagged $3.2 million on a property in Grosse Pointe which he reportedly paid for in cash.
