Zaha Hadid Design: Here's a Look at Some of the Late Architect's Most Striking Projects

Here's a look at some of the late architect Zaha Hadid's most striking and beautiful projects.

Just recently, Elle Décor compiled a list of Hadid's works which they kicked off with the Zaragoza Bridge Pavilion in Spain. The infrastructure was built in 2008 for the Zaragoza Expo. The exhibit was focused on water conservation and sustainable development.

Hadid was also the person responsible for building the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, South Korea. According to ArchDaily, the plaza was completed in 2014 and became the first public project in the country to utilize 3-dimensional building information modeling.

Additionally, Hadid was also the brainchild behind the 2007 panoramic gondola stations that can be found in Austria. Also known as the Hungerburg Funicular, the structure mirrors the terrain of the French Alps during the winter season.

Hadid also built the Nordpark Cable Railway in Australia. It was revealed that the gondolas travel through a tunnel and over the bridge and across the river to reach the former structure which is located 860 meters about sea level.

Meanwhile, the Bergisel Ski Jump was also designed by Hadid in Austria in 2002. The place has become a crowd favorite especially among artists who want to engage in extreme ski jump. The building also houses a restaurant and a viewing terrace.

Lastly, in 2010, Hadid built the CMA-CGM Office Building in Marseille, France. The tower also became the first ever tower that Hadid and her team had built.

There is a handful of buildings, towers, infrastructures and several others that Hadid had built. This is why her loss will be mourned by millions of people across the world especially those in the world of design and architecture.

If you are visiting any of these buildings that she had built, make sure to pay a tribute to her too.
