New Hampshire Highlights Most Expensive House In Area Yet

A New Hampshire seven-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom home was dubbed as the most expensive listing in the area. On the market for $16 million, the Granite State manor was $5.1 million priced more than the market's prior title holder, a $10.9 million home in Portsmouth.

The New Hampshire residence spans 14,458-square-foot beside the expansive Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. It was constructed by the current owners over 20 years ago as an ideal country retreat to hide from the hustle and bustle of Boston. New Hampshire Principal listing agent Chip Maxfield had listed the pricey home with the help of his entire staff of Jane Mooney, Randy Parker, Steve Bush, and Carol Bush.

A one-of-a-kind property according to Maxfield, the lakeside home spanned over 6 acres and had 430 feet of waterfront which, as the agent explained, was not easy to find in the area.

The house was constructed to blend in with its environment, located among the scenic north woods' evergreens. It offered majestic sweeping views through 30-foot wall of windows facing the body of water. Inside, an ornate three-story, two-sided granite fireplace was complemented by a stylish vaulted maple ceiling in both the great room and dining area.

Other luxurious features included a personal soundproof media room, modern gym, spa, sauna, miniature steam room, and contemporary hot tub. There was also an elevator, various decks with breathtaking views, and a boathouse and dock. The master bathroom features a Japanese wooden tub. Custom-designed furniture was also available for purchase, according to a feature from Realtor.com.

New Hampshire agent Maxfield said that while summer activities were abound in the district, skiing was also a big hit during winter months, making this manor a year-round home, according to a feature from Forbes. Wolfeboro was known as a historic American summer resort that traced its roots to Colonial times when notable figures from Massachusetts and other areas journeyed north for the summer. Today, the city maintained a Colonial ambiance with magnificent houses along its waterfront.
