Interior designer and author Jonathan Adler was recently named the newest creative director of Fisher-Price. Toy company Mattel Inc. made the announcement this week about Adler's appointment as the company's newest creative director.
According to Elle Décor, Adler's designs will be launched this fall, and it will include a comprehensive baby gear range, nursery décor, newborn toys, cribs, beddings and infant apparel. Fans of Adler and his works will be pleased to know that his collection that will be launched this fall is just to kick off his partnership with Fisher-Price. However, his complete collection will actually be available starting next year.
While speaking with the publication, Adler said, "My goal is to marry modern design with the brand's expertise in early childhood development. Babies - and parents - deserve baby gear and toys as stylish as they are."
Meanwhile, according to The Wall Street Journal, Adler's collection will boast vibrant colors and poppy prints. The latter is what the interior designer is actually known for.
The publication also claimed that their partnership with Adler was done in an attempt to help boost the sales of their products. For the past couple of years now, Mattel products have not been doing very well in the market.
In other news, this is the second time that Adler has been tapped to work with the toy brand. Back in 2009, he was also tasked to design the life-size Barbie Dream House for the doll's 50th anniversary.
So if you are a mom of young children or if you are a would-be mom, wait and see what Adler will have in store for you and your kids. Remember, his designs and works will be available this fall so it's not really ideal for you to buy other baby gear and stuff from other retailers.
