In 1980, The Beatles member John Lennon and Yoko Ono were photographed during their stay in the building. The couple were frequent guests at The Plaza around that time.

Ahead of this, Lennon already stayed in The Plaza with his singing group back in 1964. At that time, he was with Ringo, Paul and George and they stayed at the hotel for six days.

In 1955, actress Kay Thompson lived in The Plaza. At that time, Thompson published a book titled "Eloise" which was based on the character she also performed on stage.

Prior to that, The Plaza also become home to Frank Lloyd Wright. His unit was previously owned by Christian Dior. While he was at The Plaza, Wright designed the iconic New York building The Guggenheim Museum.
