Celebrity Homes for Sale: Baseball Legend Jeff Kent Lists Austin Home for $3.1M

Former Giants slugger and baseball legend Jeff Kent is selling his custom-built mansion in Austin for $3.1 million.

According to Realtor, one of the distinctive amenities is the professionally designed pool with a long, twisting, and turning waterslide inside. Listing agent Jodi Langle said that the pool was the joint project of Langle Design and the Schlitterbahn design team.

Schlitterbahn is known for the different waterparks throughout Texas. Langle said that there are multiple areas and multiple levels which include a swim-up bar, vanishing edge, catch pools, caves and spa. Langle also promises that the slide is extraordinary.

The 8,794-square-foot home also features hand-milled mesquite wood in doors, floors, rails, and exposed beams. Aside from that, it also has 1,335 square feet of garage space which can fit up to six cars.

One of the bays was also converted into a batting cage. The home has a total of six bedrooms and seven full bathrooms, and the residence sits on just under an acre of land.

Listing details reveal that it also has an oversized gourmet kitchen equipped with high-end appliances. Other rooms include the laundry room, study/office and a large living area.

The master bedroom is located on the main floor, while additional bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are located on the upper floor. The upper floor bedrooms also have a separate laundry room.

Aside from the resort-style water features, there is also a guest casita and a workshop outside. The home is conveniently located in a desirable neighborhood and is only walking distance to the nearest elementary school, just in case a family would want to live in it. It is also just minutes away from Hill Country Galleria.

The 48-year-old baseball star retired in 2008 after 17 years in the league. He made the All-Star team five times and also holds the record for the most career home runs for a second base.
