What Do Buyers Want Most from a Home According to the Property Brothers?

Stars of HGTV's "Property Brothers" recently shared the top ten things that buyers want and need most from a home. These things may come in handy if you want to receive multiple offers on the house you are selling in the real estate market.

Most sellers are aware of the fact that in order to attract multiple offers on the house they are selling, they must cover at least some of the things buyers need and want from a home. The "Property Brothers" Jonathan and Drew Scott recently shared the ten things that buyers want most from a home, which can be used as a guide on the renovation and remodeling projects you might want to take on in the future.

According to House Beautiful, more buyers are now looking for houses with an open living plan.

"[About] 99 percent of homeowners want an open-concept living. This is better for families keeping an eye on their kids, better when entertaining and even better for making rooms feel bigger," said the Scott brothers.

Aside from an open floor plan, the HGTV stars stated that buyers want more space in the kitchen and more room for their items. Having an ample kitchen counter space is said to add to the house value of the house you are selling. Aside from this, buyers are also looking for a home with a separate pantry.

While kitchen islands seem to only work for fancy homes, the "Property Brothers" shared that these do more than just giving an aesthetic appeal to the room. Kitchen islands are also best for storing items in the kitchen.

As previously reported on Realty Today, you may even put your flat screen TV on one of the sides of the kitchen island to add even more appeal to your humble abode. This would also be a great way of hiding your flat screens when not in use.

Apart from the above-mentioned features, Jonathan and Drew shared that an outdoor deck or patio is also one of the most sought-after features buyers are looking for in a home. Energy-efficient devices also help attract more buyers because of the savings it can bring about.
