Celebrity Homes for Sale: MLB Hall of Famer Tom Glavine Sold Florida Mansion for $10.25M

After five years of staying in his luxury beachfront mansion, MLB Hall of Famer Tom Glavine finally sold the home for $10.25 million. According to Realtor, Glavine bought the five-bedroom home for $7.3 million in July 2011, and it was the second most expensive home sold in the area that year. It first came to the market in September 2015 for $11.75 million.

According to the listing agent, Chris Abbott of The Chris Abbott Group, it was an extraordinary sale in the market. It was originally built in 2001 by architect Lew Oliver who worked with interior designer Phillip Sides. It underwent renovations in 2008 with the addition of an outdoor pool and water views from the different nooks inside the home.

Listing details reveal that the property presides over 85 feet of elevated beachfront along the Gulf of Mexico waters. Aside from the main residence, there is also a one-bedroom carriage house over a two-car garage and also a stone paved courtyard with the full-sized swimming pool and fountain.

The features of the main residence include the gulf front great room located on the second floor that is designed with lofty exposed beam ceiling. It also has a designer kitchen that is fully equipped with modern appliances and designed with luxurious marble and bronze wall.

The master bedroom is joined by three uniquely situated guest suites on the first floor. On the second floor, there is an additional guest bedroom which can also serve as a library or a media room, depending on the needs of the new owner.

According to Abbott, Glavine's family enjoyed spending long weekends in the place, away from the busy lifestyle in Atlanta. This is also what captured the new buyers' interest. They are family who wants a place where they can have some relaxing time in the beach while away from their busy lives in Dallas.
