Children Write Letters to Suggest the Color of the Year for 2017

Young students from Cloud Peak Elementary School in Buffalo, Wyoming recently penned letters in an attempt to propose the color of the year for 2017. At present, rose quartz and serentiy are considered this year's pantone colors of the year, but it seems that the children want a different color to get everyone's attention next year.

One of the students wrote a hilarious anecdote about the friendship of colors. "Friendship is a really nice thing. When you find yourself a friend and start playing with him/her, you feel happy. I think lavender fog represents that."

Another student tried to relate the color yellow to why he thinks everyone is so busy these days. "Cream gold is the best choice... First it is calming in times of craziness. All over the world people's schedules so full they barely have time for a conversation with their family."

One student wrote that metallic blue is what could help people stay on track with their lives. "First, metallic blue is a tranquil color which can reflect memories not just happy ones but sad ones too. It will show you how you overcame them and how everyone has problems in the long winding road we call life."

One student also said that turquoise should be the color of the year for 2017 because it could have wonderful health benefits. "When I am crazy and I see turquoise it makes me settle down faster."

According to House Beautiful, more letters written by the students from the elementary school were posted on Mental Floss.

At first glance, it seems impossible for these kids to influence what could be next year's color of the year. Still, it shows a hilarious insight into how kids could think creatively and how their innocence can be so impactful.
