Home Design Tips: How to Avoid Making Mistakes When Installing Subway Tile

Here are some helpful tips on how to install subway tiles as perfectly as possible. According to House Beautiful, installing subway tiles can be very daunting, but if one knows how it's done correctly, it can be a very rewarding task at home.

Just recently, blogger Mandi Gubler penned an article for her blog Vintage Revivals about her passion for installing subway tiles. "I love my laundry room tile. It was totally worth the learning process," she said.

According to the blogger, the biggest challenge with installing this kind of tile is making sure that it is evenly and perfectly placed. Unfortunately, one wrong move with the subway tile can destroy the overall appearance of the entire DIY project.

"If it's not level, it will stick out like a sore thumb," she said.

As such, Gubler gave her readers a very helpful tip when it comes to installing subway tiles as evenly as possible.

"Use a manageably-sized level (if you have one that is a yard long it's harder to work with) and to put spacers everywhere! I'm talking every corner on every tile. It might seem like an overkill but it helps keep things level and spaced correctly," she said.

Meanwhile, Gubler is also recommended the use of different types of tile patterns. This way, certain walls at home will have their own unique look and feel, according to Country Living.

Now that you have some ideas as to how to install subway tiles as perfectly and as evenly as possible, what are you waiting for? Make sure to try installing tiles in your home when you have some free time on your shoulders. Remember, this is a very time-consuming thing to do, so it would be better to start with it during weekends or anytime when you don't have to go to work.
