'Lethal Weapon' Producer Joel Silver Lists Malibu Estate For $57.5 Million

The Malibu estate owned by producer Joel Silver, the mind behind various classic action movies, had been put on the market. With the success of the "Predator," "Lethal Weapon" series and "Die Hard," Silver is giving away another Hollywood classic.

He had originally  listed his Malibu beachfront home, which was once owned by the late producer Robert Chartoff, for $60 million. The property was not able to get a buyer and is now on the market with an official price of $57,500,000. The estate offered 137 feet strip of Carbon Beach.

The Malibu estate had no other shared pictures except for the aerial view of the manor along the beach, but according to the listing, the property featured a walled entrance courtyard and spacious living spaces with five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

There is also a guesthouse that features two bathrooms and two bedrooms. A pool, patios, tennis court, and a spa are what connects the many areas. Other features included a chef's kitchen, and a fitness room, according to a feature from Variety.

Dark-tinted glass doors opened the two-story home to an open brick terrace. Online advertising materials described the place as the only property with a tennis court next to the beachfront. However, there was one other tennis court situated on Carbon Beach, just two doors away from the property. The court sat  alongside a 17,000-square-foot home built and designed in the 80s for Norman Ackerberg, a real estate developer.

The Malibu property was owned by Ackerberg's widow, Lisette. In 2013, after years of legal dispute, Lisette paid a million dollar fine and bore the cost to build a public beach path alongside her home that she and her late husband agreed to provide in exchange for permission from the California Coastal Commission to construct their home, pool and tennis court. The 10-foot wide path was now open for public use an hour before and after sunrise, according to a feature from the Pursuitist.
