Celebrity Homes for Sale: 'Unreal' Star Shiri Appleby Lists West Hollywood Cottage for $1.8M

After giving birth to her second child, Shiri Appleby is looking for a new family-friendly home and has listed her West Hollywood home for $1.79 million. According to Variety, Appleby bought the circa 1927 cottage in 2001 for $725,000 and shares the 1,600-square-foot pad with her partner, renowned chef, Jon Shook.

Situated behind the tall private hedges, the traditional-style home features rustic entrance, vaulted ceilings, elaborate lighting and white-painted floors, giving the interior a more contemporary feel. According to Los Angeles Times, the living room has a fireplace and is integrated with surround sound. It opens to the rustic-booth style eating area and the chef's kitchen that is equipped with stainless steel appliances and is designed with custom cabinetry. The dining area, on the other hand, offers built-in fashioned reclaimed wood.

The master bedroom has also built-ins like burled wood headboard with integrated end tables and a brass-trimmed lacquer wardrobe. There is a master bathroom designed with concrete floors and has a glass-enclosed shower. There is another bedroom which has a lofted area. The second bedroom, on the other hand, has high-pitched ceiling and walls lined with floor-to-ceiling built-ins incorporated with open shelving and a closer storage. There is also a corner desk.

The kitchen and the master bedroom open to the compact backyard which features plunge-sized swimming pool which is wrapped by a Saltillo-tile patio. Across the grounds, there is also vine-wrapped guest house that has one bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. It was reported that the property was last sold for more than 10 years ago for $679,000.

The 37-year-old actress stars in the Lifetime comedy drama "UnREAL" and has also worked in some famous television shows like "ER," "Girls," and "Life Unexpected." Her husband is the co-owner of eateries like Animals, Son of a Gun and Jon & Vinny's.
