Celebrity Homes for Sale: Hollywood Veteran Jerry Zucker Lists Mandeville Canyon Home for $16.5M

Veteran Hollywood hyphenate Jerry Zucker is selling his luxurious estate in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles for $16.5 million. According to West Side Today, the property came back to the market for the first time since 1990.

The 1939 Colonial manse was originally designed by architect John Byers, and upgrades were later designed by Michael S. Smith who is the interior designer responsible for decorating the Oval Office. In Variety's feature, the boomerang-shaped residence can be seen behind the dense screen of trees on the 1.6 acres of lot.

The estate has a laid-back and semi rustic style. The main house has a total space of 10,000 square feet and six bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. There is also a 400-square-foot guesthouse.

Inside the main residence is a generously spaced living and dining rooms which open off the central foyer. It is joined by the mahogany-paneled library and eat-in kitchen with high-end modern appliances and a combination of green marble and white ceramic tile countertops. On the second floor, there is a screening room that has a 35mm projection system with tiered seating and wet bar.

The rear of the home angles around and opens to the tree-shaded terrace that features an outdoor fireplace. Aside from the luscious grounds, there is also a swimming pool that is surrounded by ample flagstone terracing. Just a few steps away from that is a lighted pickleball court and lattice-clad viewing pavilion. The whole estate has several gardens where one can enjoy strolling around and enjoying nature.

Zucker, who is also known as the slapstick comedy king, is known for writing, directing and producing box office action films like "Airplane!" and the "Naked Gun" franchise. Public records reveal that he purchased the property back in 1990 for more than $4.1 million.
