"Firework" singer Katy Perry is reportedly eyeing a convent in Los Angeles to become her newest home. According to Elle Décor, a Los Angeles judge revealed that they are blocking the efforts by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to sell the convent to restaurant owner Dana Hollister.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the selling of the convent at $15.5 may be deemed legal. However, the nuns at the convent don't have the right to sell it on their own.
In order to settle the issue, the Los Angeles Archdiocese has reportedly allowed Perry to buy the convent for $14.5 million in cash. However, the nuns claimed that the Los Angeles Archdiocese could be making the biggest mistake of their lives selling the convent to Perry.
"Katy Perry represents everything we don't believe in. It would be a sin to sell to her," one of the nuns said.
Last year, Perry met up with the nuns at the convent and tried to plead her case. The singer reportedly showed the nuns her Jesus tattoo to prove to them that she believes in Jesus Christ.
However, the nuns believe that the tattoo with the word Jesus doesn't mean anything especially since it is a belief that anyone's body shouldn't be manipulated in any way. As of late, there is still no resolution yet with regards to Perry, the nuns and Hollister's troubles.
Last year, Perry was surprised to find out that Hollister has already purchased the rights to the convent. She only found out after she asked an architect to look into some possible renovations.
As of late, it is still unclear whether or not the convent's title is under Perry or Hollister's name. What is only known is that both alleged convent owners don't have to split the property into half.
