House Tour: William Shakespeare's Mansion

William Shakespeare recently celebrated his 400th death anniversary. According to NDTV, guests are expected to flock to Stratford, a town with 27,000 people and where Shakespeare was born and died since he just celebrated his death anniversary on April 23.

Prince Charles attended the festivities over the weekend which also saw people parading towards Shakespeare's grave. There were also some fireworks, music, and a show of some of Shakespeare's most famous scenes from his different works of art.

Oscar winners Judi Dench and Helen Mirren were just two of the celebrities who attended the festivities and performed scenes from Shakespeare's works.

Meanwhile, according to Elle Décor, approximately 5,000 people visit Shakespeare's mansion in Stratford on a daily basis. His house opens with a willow structure that is planted on Anne Hathaway's garden. The latter happens to be Shakespeare's wife.

The poet was buried in Stratford's Holy Trinity Church where his grave was inscribed with the words "Good friend for Jesus sake forbear, to digg the dust inclosed here, Blessed be the man that spares these stones, Curst be he that moves my bones."

According to the publication, Shakespeare was the one who wrote the epitaph himself. The poet's house also features the Avon lake and a shadow bench in Hathaway's garden.
