Mona Lisa's Italian Villa For Sale

Mona Lisa's Italian Villa is now for sale at $23 million.

According to Elle Décor, the Villa Antinori where Mona Lisa was born sprawls over 66 lush, green acres and is in the market for the first time ever. Silk merchant Francesco del Giocondo owned the villa from 1498 to 1517. During that time, he asked Leonardo da Vinci to paint a portrait of his wife Mona Lisa. Some experts believe that the painting of Giocondo's wife Lisa was completed between 1503 and 1506.

"There are no documents to prove that Lisa lived in the villa, but there is no doubt that it was owned by her husband's family at the time that Mona Lisa was painted," Ambra Nepi, an agent from Lionard Luxury Real Estate in Florence, Italy told The Telegraph.

Meanwhile, Mona Lisa's property has three stories, a 750-square foot pool, and 18th century chapel, eight bedrooms, two kitchens, 11 bathrooms, a library and a fitness room. There are also separate entrances that lead to a four-room custodian's quarters and a two-bedroom apartment.

Outside the house is an impressive range of greeneries which was designed by English architect Cecil Pinsent during the 1900s.

As of late, the current owners of Mona Lisa's former house want to keep their identity private. What is only known is that they purchased the property from a wealthy Italian family who bought it in 1960.

If you want to own a house that is rich in history and one that boasts of countless features and amenities, then you've come to the right place. Mona Lisa's house could be just that and more.

Considering its price though, you need to definitely be prepared with your budget. But once this is settled, you can definitely benefit from owning a mansion as beautiful as this one. So what are you waiting for? Buy this mansion now!
