Here are some of the most important benefits you can get from living in a small town.
According to House Beautiful, living in a small town can make you become more appreciative of history.
HGTV's "Home Town" hosts Erin and Ben Napier were proof that this could actually happen to anyone living in this kind of environment.
"I grew up in the country, outside of Laurel, and making trips into the city where there was so much historic architecture, visiting the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art on field trips growing up, it all deeply affected me. I learned to appreciate old and historic places and things as a child because those things were interesting to my parents, too," Erin said.
Other than this, living in a small town can almost guarantee that your neighbors will always be at your beck and call. Since there are only very few people living in your neighborhood, everyone extends help to each other.
Ben also shared that some of their neighbors will leave fresh vegetables outside their door or garden. In return, his dad would always help someone fix their car.
"People are gracious to one another in a small town," he told Country Living.
Additionally, getting something fixed in a small town is never a problem because most often than not, someone out there is knowledgeable about this. Usually, people living in a small town also rely on each other or themselves to build some things.
"If you don't know how to fix it yourself, get a book, Google it, ask someone who does, learn from them and make it happen," he said.
Now that you have these benefits from living in a small town, it's time to decide whether or not you want to buy your next home in such an area. If yes, go for it now and meet your new and friendly neighbors!
