Rumors have it that "19 Kids and Counting" star Jana Duggar and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow are getting to know each other very well, but a rep for the athlete has stepped up to say that no, the two were definitely not looking to get together, Christian Today reported.
The dating rumors between the two began when their parents were discovered to know each other and were said to be getting close. Duggar's parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, met Tebow's mother Pam at a fundraising event in Springdale, Arkansas for the Loving Choices Pregnancy Center.
After introducing themselves to one another, Duggar's parents reportedly posted a photo on their Facebook account of the three of them together, which ended in news stories erupting claiming that Jana and Tim's parents were trying to set them up.
Adding fuel to the fire eating up the rumor mill, Duggar's cousin Amy also posted a photo with Tebow's mom on her Instagram account where she said his mother had the "sweetest heart" and mentioned that they "had the greatest little chit chat."
A rep for Tebow set the record straight with a statement on Radar Online Monday saying they were untrue and that the pair have never even met one another.
Duggar's cousin Amy also confirmed the news by posting a photo of a false tabloid headline on her Instagram account. It was titled "Exclusive Duggar Drama! Cousin Amy Trying to Steal Tim Tebow From Jana!," which Duggar's cousin laughed off and added, "We've never even met Tim Tebow. #allsmilesnodrama"
Fans are reportedly saddened over the news as some were hoping the eldest Duggar would get married soon, preferably to Tebow as the pair reportedly had a lot in common, according to The Inquisitr.
Both were Evangelical Christians, have vowed to wait until marriage before having sex and are close in age, with Duggar being 24 years old and Tebow being 27. Most Evangelical Christians also get married while young, which meant it won't be surprising for them to jump the gun soon.
Also, both get their fair share of media attention, so the other will likely not be bothered by being in the public eye or have to worry about finances.
However, with Tebow's rep already nipping the rumor in the bud, fans and followers will definitely have to wait a while more before Duggar ever gets ready to follow in the footsteps of her already-married younger siblings Jessa and Jill.
