House Tour: Old Kitchen Features Unique Floors

Here's a look at a beautiful kitchen that also features some of the most unique-looking floors.

According to House Beautiful, the kitchen was designed by Grant K. Gibson who had one thing in mind: to give his clients top-of-the-line designs and layouts.

"Making sure this space didn't lean too country or too rustic required a delicate balance," he said, talking about the 1950s galley kitchen that he recently renovated.

Gibson, who also happens to be very fond of cooking and baking, made it a point to create a kitchen space that will be extremely impressive. He installed a prep sink that are usually used for rinsing vegetables, fruits and other ingredients.

Meanwhile, Gibson also didn't shy away from using old vintage pieces for his kitchen. In fact, instead of buying new fixtures, the designer simply stripped and coated the existing items he had at home with unlacquered brass. He also installed marble countertops that he's extremely proud of.

"They are used throughout Europe. The coolness of the stone is ideal for kneading dough," he told Resources.

Lastly, Gibson decided to install realistic shelving in his kitchen so he could maximize the space. "One shelf is simple and dynamic. You have to be able to hide clutter, and this way, you can rotate your collections," he said.

If you are thinking of having your kitchen renovated, why not take inspiration from what Gibson designed? It is quite obvious that the renovation was done with so much passion, and it was also based on what the client needed.

To add to this, you might also want to hire Gibson for his services. Remember, he can definitely help you transform even your most odd-looking kitchen into a world class area in your home. If you are fond of cooking and baking, this should be your priority right now!
